Our dog broke a window
Princeton broke a window! I tried to keep my 14-month-old Great Dane Princeton out of the living room when deliveries were expected, but the UPS guy snuck up on both of us.
Princeton rammed his snout right through the glass when the UPS delivery man put a package outside. It happened while I was standing between the window and Princeton, trying to get him to back off. But he lunged past me.
Princeton is OK now, but a cut on his face was bleeding pretty bad at first.
We got the window fixed and we’re working on “door manners” with a new dog trainer… from a place called Bark Busters. She’s the best of the many trainers that we’ve met. BarkBusters.com is an international company. They send a trainer to your house and guarantee to keep working with you for the life of the dog for one low price.
However, teaching “door manners” to my Dane is a long, frustrating process.

Oh dear! Poor Princeton and poor you!! But well done to you for persisting - I know just how frustrating it can be and it can take a while to modify behaviour, especially once it has become a habit...but if you persist, you will overcome it. Don't give up and we're thinking of you from far away and rooting for you! Hope this trainer manages to help you with the problem.

Thanks for the encouragement, Hsin Yi. It really helps to know that somebody understands and cares.
The BarkBusters trainer was here again today to practice door manners. After a few tries where he challenged both of us by jumping and mouthing her (not me).she admitted, "He really is a handful!"
But he impressed her by how nicely he walks on a leash. We've worked on that daily for more than a year now.
Hi Princeton!
I saw you over on Honey's Blog :)
Wow you know I broke a window too! I was laying on my back on my cushy bed near the window. Then I stretched, and my hind paw went straight through :S
I'm sorry you got hurt though :(
And I bet you scared that UPS guy!
Anyway come visit me sometime, us window-breakers need to stick together!

BARK! Princeton I tried to go through a window too. Daddy caught me in time, so I only got a little cut, but the window was broke like yours. It really scared Grandma and Grampa and their doggie I was trying to chase. Mommy and daddy got thicker windows, but they keep telling me I need to learn to stay away from the window. I cant help it, I gotta protect my lair! BARK! Sasha the princess.
Hey Princeton - I'm hosting my first ever competition and I think it might be right up your alley! Come on over to my blog to check it out...
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
Wow, thanks for all the nice comments! I don’t feel alone anymore!
I told two friends at the dog park about how Princeton broke the window.
“My dog did that, too,” answered one.
“So did mine!” said the other. “I never told anybody because I thought I was the only one!”
Each of us thought we were the only one. It’s great to know that we’re not alone.
